Danesmoor 20/25 lockout during CH, but not during HW

Hi folks,

I have a Worcester Danesmoor 20/25 boiler. Yesterday it started locking out when I put the heating on. The amount of time between boiler firing and locking out varies but can be as short as five minutes.

Putting the water heating on does NOT cause the boiler to lock out.

Pipework is S-Plan, water pump is working ok and valve actuators replaced a few months ago.

Can anybody advise?

Solenoid coil 99% of time.
The boiler does not differentiate between water and heating. It fires when energised.

As above. Maybe it runs on H/W if you switch it on first, or it cycles, whereas on Heating you look for continuous running.

Thanks both, that's helpful. To your point, Terry, that's what confused me. I would expect it to lockout regardless of whether it's HW or CH; but Oilhead's point is well made, that CH and HW have different run profiles.
