Hello
My Danfoss TP5 is about 18 years old and controls a combi boiler, which is delivering H/W OK.
When trying to programme it, the display is incomplete: the screen displays either the upper half, the lower half or nothing.
I have replaced the batteries with new batteries but there is no improvement.
Is there anything else that I can try?
Is it 'scrap'?
All advice welcome, please, as a new one is quite expensive.
Thank you.

If the batteries are decent quality and contacts in the stat are clean then it’s likely goosed. You can replace with whatever you like really, as long as the voltages are compatible (most are).

It may be that you can carefully dismantle it, clean the contacts between the LCD and the circuit board, re-assemnle and it will work. I’ve done this with a number of gadgets with LCD screens over the years where part of the screen has stopped working. Mainly these have been kitchen gadgets where grease or similar can get in.

Or just replace it.
