dark mark around composite door frame

I had a dark mark around my doorframe which seems to have got bigger I dont know if its damp , it doesn't feel damp and the sealant on the outside looks good. photo's attached any idea what it is.

Is it by any chance some sort of "filler" between the door frame and the wall that has not been finished off smooth?

I wasn't in when it was fitted but I do think its the wall/plasterbord up to the door

I agree with KenGMac here, looks like a filler of some sort, either a caulk or maybe they've tried to apply a thin bead of plaster to finish the gap off and not use trims
