Hello,

I am preparing to disconnect a Paragon super II alarm system. I don't have the master codes so the plan is to disconnect the mains and remove the battery. I can also cut the wires to the sounders.

The first problem is to get the panel open. It's in a tight space and all I can see is a hole (picture attached). I can see from a picture in another post here that there is a screw of some description. What sort of screwdriver or key do I need?

Obviously without the codes it may get noisy so I want to be prepared.

Thanks.

Thanks, that explains it. I;m going to get the master code of the company that installed it (they want to charge £350 to come and type it in for me) if not I have wire cutters ready for anything that makes a noise, but once the mains and battery are disconnected it should be quiet.

I can just about reach it. The alarm has been in for over 20 years and was maintained. The battery in the panel has been changed but no one has gone near the bellbox. Do you think it has a battery in it?

Think that’s an amourgard bellbox ? Not very common or it could be a metal flash guard ….cant comment but it would have had a battery in on install …

I'll consider how I'm going to handle that then.

Thanks for your advice, really helpful.

I recently bought a house fitted with the Paragon Super system i want to decommission it but have no way of getting to the bell box yet, my problem is the power is fed off the lighting circuit so whenever i power down the light circuit to do work the bell starts sounding, does anyone know a way to stop this? thanks,

Thanks for the reply. It's old, I reckon about 25 years old

Problem is …. They did 4 versions
Prima 100 no cut off
Prima 200 no cut off
Prima 300 ….with cut off
Prima 500….with cut off ….normally green LEDS
Plus a Prima 030 ….single LED ( so it’s not that one )
I would wait till midday then power it down mains and battery and see if the sounder cuts in ….wait 20 mins ….time it as it seems longer….if it’s still ringing after 20 mins power the alarm back up ….then its ladder time

Were to 100 / 200 those used by Wickes way back in the late 80s or very early 90s? I have never seen one of these sounders in use
