Hello all, so I’m building a small 2.4x2.4 deck this weekend, I’m having a debate with my self about joist sizes. Wickes have got an offer on at the minute so 3x2 (70x45mm) is currently £4.50 per 2.4 length. Would this be strong enough for a low level deck? I’m planning on spacing joists at 30cm intervals. Would this be strong enough? I’ll be adding supports every 800mm and noggins 2-3x per joist. Let me know what you think, cheers!

If each joist is supported at 0,800,1600,2400 and assuming C16 timber then the structure will take well over four times the standard loading allowance used in house flooring, noggins a waste of time.
