I would like to disassemble a wooden bed for disposal. The wood is stapled together and hammering it only seems to dent the wood. Would it be (in)advisable to drill through the staples using a drillbit designed for metal?

Stand on end then push it over while standing on timber base, should fall apart.

have i misunderstood this!!

usualy the only bits stapled are also glued as in slat rail to side rail and not required to come appart for disassembly
try turning over and see if you expose screws!!

Freddy - exactly, if you assume his hand is 10 foot long, and that log is from a giant redwood ;)

A bit off topic Username 132, but how did you get on, patching your lath and plaster wall in July. :?:
