Im thinking about decorating my downstairs loo. Itll involve just painting the walls and ceiling really. The only thing Im stuck on is what to do with the beige tiles round the sink  , any ideas?
I cant remove them coz wouldnt know where to start.
I saw some painted tiles at a friends house and thought they looked rubbish.
Any other ideas ??? :D

Old tiles are easy enough to remove, using a broad bladed cold chisel called a bolster...however some plaster may come away with them - its a risk we all take so you have to be prepared to make good.
You can also tile on top if you want or even paint them (looks naff) so I'd consider taking them off.
John :)

Breakup the tile with a hammer by using cold chisel remove the broken tile. Take a stiff putty knife scrape the old adhesive, and become relatively smooth, then level the surface for the new tile. Use tile adhesive and apply the complete back of the new tile, and also apply some adhesive in the broken tile place, and fix the new tile in the gap. After fixing press all around the tiles.
