What do you think a Tarrif is? When you're paying money to the government then that's a tax. The US government is now going to charge at least 10% of the value of anything a US consumer buys if it's imported.
a tarrif is not a direct tax rise to the voting public . All depends if they buy certain products then it may well have a certain amount of an effect on them

It is a direct tax to the voting and non voting public. It's just not a simple one. Complicated and opaque taxes aren't a good thing. Would you prefer calling it a Stealth tax?
