Hi everyone

If all the covers are missing (!) how do you tell the difference? I need to know for balancing of central heating system.

Is it convention to have one on the right for example?

Hope someone can help

Thanks

HI Kev

thanks for speedy reply! I finally sussed out the anticlockwise thing.....

The valves look the same each end to me, so should I just ensure that I adjust the same ones on each rad, eg the right hand ones, when balancing?

The one which gets hot first is the flow. It is more usual to have the lockshield valve on the return, though it does not make any difference as all it does is control the flow rate through the radiator.
