I need to set a good few 4x4 fence posts into the ground to create a 6ft fence. So I have 8ft fence posts that I intend to sink 2ft into the ground.

Problem is that the ground is basically rubble. Almost impossible to dig using a conventional trench spade & clamshell tool. And from what I know of augers, they wouldn't touch this either.

So the question is- What's the best way of making a 2ft deep hole into rubble?

Pneumatic drill, fencing grabs (post hole digger) and good knee pads

Pinch bar.

If you want to splash the cash there's various "jack hammers", but it can be a bit of a slippery slope once you start looking at longer chisels, anti vibration etc
