I have a dimmer switch in an inconvenient location in my lounge (as the previous owner moved the door but not the switch). It is not easy to get to the wiring from the room above. My thought was to channel horizontally from the dimmer switch and install a conventional switch approximately 3 ft away. How do I wire this? Thanks in advance.

The easiest way would be to extend the wires from the existing switch position, and fit a blank plat over the position.
