Where abouts is the Thermal Cut out switch inside a dimplex storage heater, and what does it look like?

I would expect it to be near the top.
On my old storage rads, the t/cut often went, that was a melting link, probably use different things these days.

Yes its a dimplex XL 12 storage heater, i was called to a job the other day involving this heater, but wasnt too sure about the thermal cut-out?

where is it in the heater? and how do you reset it.

The thermal cut out is at the top right hand side. Its in amongst the thermostat controls.

Look for a small button (white) on top of a round piece of metal. Push it down and it will click if it was open.

The power to the unit needs to be off.

Its mounted on the bit where the two dial assemblies are mounted, beneath the main cover.
The unit needs to be isolated before removing the cover as live parts are exposed.
If you look theres an in and out wire on it and the button in the middle is usually popped out and you push it in and you hear an audible click
