dirt seperators - what are your thoughts?

We've started fitting spirovent dirt seperators at work and I've just installed a Magnaclean for a customer, but are they a waste of time on sealed systems? Which ones do you rate?

Sealed systems are less prone to sludge than open vent, but if you neglect them, they still suffer.
Only use magnacleans so far, and I subscribe to the general consensus that they do the job, but are poorly built.

Ive lobbed a magnaclean on my system. Sealed system all brand new 18months ago. Its not got much dirt on it but id like to keep it that way.
