Disconnect / cut PIR cables

Hello,

i need to get rid of some PIR wires before I lay my hallway floor. Our alarm is old and we’ve never used it since we be had the house. Can I disconnect (cut) the PIR wires, or will that set of the alarm etc. Is it safe to cut then?

If your alarm system is not used or required I would totally down power the system first.
Mains electric off to control panel and disconnect battery,outside bell mite ring.
You could now cut or remove cables. You may also check that they are not phone line cables.
