I need to do some alternatios to the pipework under our living. It's made up of hepworth pushfit and 15mm copper piping.

The 15mm copper radiator pipes go straight into hep20 connectors. I've already unscrewed these and removed them after draining the central heating system.

I notice that once unscrewed there are 3 pieces left on the copper pipe, a black washer, a green thing and a grey thing. My question is, can these simply be taken off the pipe and then refitted exactly the same using the exact same bits?

ie, can I undo and redo the fittings without weakening the seal.

It is possible but in your case NO, the retaining washer, (castleated metal bit) needs to come off the pipe in opposite direction, this means cutting the pipe. If you can cut pipe then ok. In all honesty I would fit new though I have reused when necessatated

;)

Just seen your bottom line, if you dont move retaining clip it will reseal:cool:
