Hi Guys,

We have a loop in our kitchen with the Boiler, Hob Light, Dishwasher and Washing Machine running off it (with a seperate switchbox/fusepanel on the wall in the kitchen, one for each device).

Last week both the dishwasher and washing machine stopped turning on, but hob light and boiler still working fine so power reaching the kitchen loop. I have swapped the 13A fuses for both switches but neither device turns on.

Is is possible that both devices may have blown at the same time, possibly in a surge?

Simple problem but any advice/thoughts would be great... I have attached an image of the switches with the front panel removed for ref.

Thanks-
Dave

Never dealt with gridswitches as you have in the picture so not 100% certain.

Have a look behind washer and dishwasher to see if the switches feed single sockets to each appliance. If they do then they will have fuses in the plugs also; these may have blown.

Has nothing definately not tripped out? Could be that the various appliances are fed from differing circuits. Check at the consumer unit.

Do all other kitchen sockets work ok? Could be that the light and boiler are fed from a lighting circuit and the washers from a power (socket) circuit.

Double check the new fuses are also fine by changing them around with otheres that definatley are good. Fuse ratings are typically 3A for boiler and hob light and 10A or 13A for washers.

Regards.

Think you're going to have to have a look behind the grid switches to find out, unless there's a seperate feed on each bank of grids.

Can you pull out either washing machine or dishwasher unplug it and plug something in that you know that works first like a table lamp or similar?

Thats the first thing I would do if the appliance's aren't intergrated.

This might not be relevant but --

Are the switches for the non-functional appliances on the same horizontal row in that panel? :?: :?: :?:
