What a forkin' shambles.

The fact that Persimmon and the Housing Minister would not appear on the programme spoke volumes.

So many purchases (never mind large purchases) have much more consumer protection so why are houses "exempt"?

Build quality is taken on trust, you are not allowed to send in an independent inspector before you agree to buy. One buyer was told if he did not sign by a certsin deadline, he would be charged £50 a day for 10 days and then threatened with legal action....

The solution: never buy a new house.

New houses cost a premium and the buyer ends up being the quality control inspector.

Dispatches, local and national government can't even see the connection to Grenfell Tower. I would never buy a new build.

The top man earned 70 million last year. Not to mention his cronies around him. Because of this, the quality of work suffers as this sector of the industry cannot attract decent skilled trades.

Because developers not only fund the tory party, they also fund the NHBC which is supposed to be the 'arbitrator'/guarantor of house building quality...

And funnily enough, developers get a 'backhander' from the NHBC that they fund based on how many homes they register...

It's simply a corrupt 'money-go-round' with scant regard to build quality or customer protection!
