Is there a guide for determining distance between each spindle for a home staircase. I was planning approx 100mm between each spindle measured in a horizonal direction. Spindles are 32mm square saction, Could someone please advise?

you should not be able to pass a 100mm sphere through the spindles at any point along their length.
set the widest point of the profile at 95mm and you will be ok.
