DIY speaker shelves

Hi Everyone,

I have some speakers I would like to make individual shelves for.
Each speaker is approximately 5.2kg.
I've been having a look online and would be happy enough with this design:

My speakers are 180mm wide and 300mm long.
Putting a strut in the center like the guy in the video has done.
Can anyone see a problem with this ?
300mm is quite long.
The strut would be fitted at 45degrees.

Fine , support doesn’t need to be depth of shelf , 60% or more will do.
