Hi folks, newbee to this site.

I have just given the kitchen a makeover and have had a freestanding ceramic hob cooker fitted, do I have to have a splashback behind, it is 30mm from the wall and being a ceramic hob there is no flame? I have searched the net and just got frustrated with the lack of info, any ideas?

Many thanks

There may not be any flame but there may well be some sizzling going on, so yes, splash out on a splashback, i fitted a nice glass floral one a few weeks back, or tiles or like we have, it comes in large sheets and matches the worktop, cut to size for splashback and upstand.

I Dont BEELEEEVE It!! I've made a helpful post, but worry not, normal service will soon be resumed and i'll take the P out of someone.

Ok,I thought this was the correct place to post , what other forum, a bit of info would have been nice, as I stated I am new to this forum.
Thanks for the other replies, I am coming from a legal angle here ,forgot to mention that.

Some would say it's not suitable but ours has been installed for many years now. Its a plain mirror that had screw holes in the corners. I bought it in a boot sale for £2 and it's nice and easy to keep clean.

Always need some sort of splashback, whether its glass, stainless steel or tiles.
The wall behind will be splattered like a toilet pan! :?
