Do i need a window fitter or handyman?- reseal sill of windows.

Update
I managed to get on top of the porch and i did this myself, i trimmed the putty off and reapplied fresh putty

Either side of the sill was about 1cm gap - it seemed a bit big for silicone so i carefully applied some expanding foam and sanded to flush when it set

Looks fine, but i suddenly thought- do i need gaps at the side of the window sill for expansion and contraction? or am i over thinking it?

Cheers, i think i am just stressed because it has been such a nightmare to get such a simple job fixed, i just thought the window sills expand in the heat and now they are flush fitted on both sides with the foam filler

But i took a look at a ground floor window sill and that is fitted to the brick with no gap at all either.

Thanks for the patience all.
