we had a new kitchen put in 5 years ago with a new kitchen circuit including a oven socket (single) - this circuit goes to a new box that was fitted
my induction hob is hard wired to that and next to it as part of the over socket is a socket where my electric oven is plugged by way of a standard plug. I want to get oven which is 3.5kw and 16 amps. can that be connected to the existing hardwired socket or do i need a new socket for it and if it can be hardwired is this a job for an electrician only

But not a plug and socket, which is what you asked.

You probably have a cooker outlet plate in the wall below that switch, with the hob connected to it.
