I have read several posts on tanking including gcol's sticky and remain a bit confused..
My question is, if I use a BAL or Dunlop tanking product on Plasterboard or Aquapanel, Wedi, Marmox, Hardi etc... will the maximum weight bearing for the substrate be reduced to a lower value than the un-tanked substrate?
I want to put up large format porcelain tiles 300mm*600mm and by the time I use a Single Part Flex adhesive the weight will be very close to 32kg sq/m. I had planned to use 20mm Marmox boards on the walls which can carry large weights on their own ~50kg if the correct adhesive is used, but I don't want to compromise the project if the tanking reduces this maximum.
I'd be particulary interested in gcol & Jasonb's comments.
Thanks
