Having mastered (almost!) the art of soldering end-feed, the biggest problem is horizontal pipes that keep trickling water for ages. Obviously impossible to solder.

Does the piece of bread in the pipe to stop the water long enough to solder trick really work? Are there situations where i shouldn't use this method?

Has anyone developed a product for these situations?

remember not to use the crust of a big fat ender or it wont flush out
used bread tons of times and had enough time to solder a ball joint never mind solder a york fitting

Usually you can blow enough out to solder a joint.

You don't want lumps of Hovis going into your new combi can.

defo works ! get your self sum map gas, ive found heating the pipe up a bout 6 8 inchs above your joint works too tends to boil off before it drips down, just a bit tricky to keep the heat in 2 places lol

Whilst bread does work, I'm still waiting for someone to invent something that works better, a gel plug for example, that will give you 5 minutes before it disolves.

Water in pipes really does slow you down, in particular when soldering onto pipes after bunging an open vented system and the work being under the floor.
