Went to a GF lighting fault.

Some lights off.

Found CU.

Asked customer, is this the only CU.

Yes, deffo, the only CU in here. I've lived here 20 years and that's the only CU in the place.

Am wise to houses having more than one CU often in more than one location, but I can't find one either.

So I go round dropping all fittings & switches downstairs.

Find nothing...am scratching bonce...

2 hours later....

Customer: "Hang on, I've found another CU."

Me: "ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!"

Sounds familiar?

Had a few of them, yeah.
Our firm used to do insurance jobs where they got 1 hour time covered free.
After 1 hour free trying to fathom it out, you then phone in and they get told the rate for you to continue, they quickly admit then they had tried to change something, ballsed it up and put the old one back wired wrong.
Nearly always sunday after there visit to B + Q

Could you not get an inclining there was another CU from looking at the main CU?

Hi guys! Sorry for the HUGE absence......my broadband router died & what with the RM strike, it took ages to get hold of a replacement. I've literally just plugged in and configured it just now.

No....the additional CU was for extension lighting only. It was tucked away & fed off an FCU somewhere else.
