Recenlty powered up our veritas r8 alarm and replaced all the pir’s.

We have a one door contact that is connected to a zone in the panel.

I have set the system. Everything works except the contact.

Is this wired incorrectly?

It could be, but, without seeing the other end of the cable... we don't know!

The two middle screws are the lid tamper contact. One would 'normally' expect the blue/yellow pair to be wired through this contact to implement tamper protection. However, since these are joined together & placed under the end screw, this is not your issue.

IHMO the quality of the wire stripping & termination is poor but they do seem to be connected.

Is it showing a fault or clear but not activating ? If fault remove green and white at the contact , twist the bare ends together , does it clear the fault ?

Many thanks

It's stuck closed or the small glass tube ( reed ) is cracked ...needs replacing

Ok i put the green wire back in, shut the door and reset the system. Opened the door with the alarm unset and it goes into tamper. This what it was set up to do i believe as its a garage up and over door. Will open the door with the system set tomorrow!

No.....HAVE you fitted a new contact ....have you wired it incorrectly? Sounds like it should have been the blue and yellow wired to the reed switch ?
Post picture of alarm pcb with the wires connect ....
