I have a choice, not sure what to choose. The carpenters are happy to use either and perhaps are happier with the OSB as cheap(er) and cheerful.

The covering would be lead, but if too expensive then just tiles.

What lead should I use? I presume Code 4, but the roofer has said Code 3 would be adequate, and a merchant said I need Code 5. What should I consider?

Consider sacking the roofer for a start.

Then buy from the merchant.

OK thank you. His assistant mentioned that they do not intend to screw anything down, OSB or plywood, they use their nail guns instead. Is there a reason the dormer cheeks/fronts must be screwed? And if nails is all I am getting, is plywood or OSB better for it?
