Hi there.

I have been given a double radiator to use as an emergency replacement for a short while... I am a bit confused as the only bleed valve outlets I can find is a small threaded hole on each rad. Ive not seen them before and don't have any valves for it.

Ive attached a picture. Could someone just confirm that they are the bleed valve holes and where on earth would I get a bleed valve for it please.

Many thanks

Dougie

Yep, they're the bleed screw holes. The chances of getting suitable replacements are almost nil I should think. Why do you need an emergency radiator replacement at this time of year anyway? Surely you're not running your heating at the moment!?

Emergency is probably the wrong word... spare..... I just could have done with it being useable. Ive seen bleed screws advertised on eBay.. but didn't know if there were other bots that were needed.

The issue with buying one on eBay, or indeed anywhere else, is that you can't guarantee the threads will be the same size. If they aren't, you risk stripping them out, and floody doom will follow

spare radiators ??? those will be rusted to feck and will pinhole the second you fit them , buy new ones for gods sake they are not expensive

those radiators used to come with a little offset bleeding key,
i did find one once, but it's since bust.
they're dead handy, as bleeding those rads when they're tight to the wall is a nightmare.

my quest goes on to find another one.....

Whoever gave them to you saved themselves a trip to the tip

Been there myself a few times, have learned a lot since then :D
