Dover...

Yeh - no idea where you get info from. I quote it and correct it and you don't reply.

I did read your link John but lost interest when I got to the part where it said the figures were a load of nonsense. For a true picture you also need to find stats that include the recent energy exports.

2.Changes affecting UK trade statistics

EU imports

In January 2022, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) implemented a data collection change affecting data on imports from the EU to Great Britain (GB). As a result, our EU to GB import statistics from January 2022 are not directly comparable with previous months. HMRC has been investigating the scale of the transition from the Intrastat survey to customs declarations data. It has been evaluating the importer trader population in both datasets, to assess whether they represent a time series break between 2022 and previous years.

HMRC has concluded this investigation, and our article, Impact of trade in goods data collection changes on UK trade statistics: 2021 to 2022, discusses these conclusions in more detail. It concludes that when comparing the components of trade across both collection platforms, there is a discontinuity of around 6% by value between the two compilation methods. This discontinuity is a combination of data not previously collected under Intrastat. For example, Parcel Post and non-Value-Added-Tax (VAT) registered traders, along with a group of traders using a new or different Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number for their customs declarations.

While these investigations have concluded, the ongoing challenges arising from supply chain impacts and the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic result in a complicated trade narrative. We continue to advise caution when interpreting monthly trade statistics, particularly early estimates, and will keep users informed of any further changes in data collection.

Blimey one of the biggest benefits of Brexit

Is the gift of brexit to the SNP

This has given the SNP there best chance to achieve a yes vote and there fore a vote for independance in any referendum

A win win situation for England and Scotland

The SNP should be grateful to the brexiteers

It's become something of a pointless gesture because regardless of how many times I've posted the benefits, some idiot will come along and say no-one can post a single benefit.

The fact is, there are plenty, search my post history, they're all listed there.
Go on then, humour me. If youve posted them before they should be easy to repeat. If they were that many and really good they would be repeated by everybody. We all know that.

But. Actual TANGIBLE benefits.
Theres bound to be some. The list of disadvantages will be longer.

But go on. Dont hide them away.

You might be closer than you think. But is it really a benefit ? For who, if so?

There are loads of metrics that prove Brexit has f*****d the economy.

Youve been thoroughly conned, Brexit was only ever a vehicle for Tory mates to profit from the chaos and deregulation.

Do you really think those bullionaires, right wing libertarian groups, Putin etc would have bankrolled Brexit because it benefits the British public :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I wonder if Notch hadnt have slipped up and confessed to voting to leave the EU, whether he would have now been in the 'I voted to remain' group? I suspect he would be.

Mottie admits Brexit is a failure

Notch claims Brexit is a failure due to empty shelves in his supermarket but is unable to provide photos. Convenient.
Ive never said that.

What I have said is empty shelves prove nothing whatsoever.

brexit has increased trade barriers and made trade far more difficult, including food.

Mottie knows Brexit is a failure.

Ive never said that.

Thank for confirming that I have never ever said “Brexit is a failure due to empty shelves in supermarkets”
No, you have said that empty shelves in supermarkets are because of Brexit.

I see you subscribe to the view that if you repeat things often enough, it becomes true.
