I have a patio on which I plan to build a conservatory. However, at the rear of the patio is a retaining wall approx. 3ft high which has weep holes along the bottom for drainage of the raised lawn area. At present the water drains onto the patio so we end up with inches of standing water at the worst times of year (we have clay soil too which hardly helps). Is there a way I can divert the water from the weep holes away from the patio (i.e. away from the conservatory once it is built)? One of the guys who quoted us for the conservatory mentioned that something could be installed to the bottom of the wall to carry the water away, but I cant recall what it was!

You can use drive drain channel (1m lengths usually) - so long as there is somewhere for the water to drain to at the end of the run.

As john says you can use drainage channels, another option which is cheaper providing you can get hold of some and not buy a whole coil is perforated pipe, you could dig trench along the edge of the patio and fit perforated pipe into it then cover with pipe bedding (10mm pea gravel) then top it off with some decorative chippings but for this option youl need to leave a gap between the patio and wall for the water to drain through, whichever option you use theyl need to tapped into a drain somewhere in the garden to take the water away.
