Hi,
I have a broken sewer pipe, which is visible, from a manhole just before the pipe leaves my garden.

It is an old clay pipe, would I need to have any repairs inspected by building control ?

Also, would this type of work, normally be covered by insurance ?

This is not a burst pipe causing sewage to leak everywhere, but is a concern and I want to redo my drive so this needs sorting beforehand !!

Thanks in advance

Thanks, that was exactly what I wanted to hear !!!!

And the answer to your question is.

"What is that lump in your trunks Batman ?"

It may be covered on insurance - check the specific policy terms

Worth checking with your local water authority too.

Round my way they are responsible for the drainage from the sewer to the first manhole, as long as it's close to the boundary.
