We have just had a new tank fitted and to that a Drayton MA1 valve installed as the other one I used to have to turn by hand! The new valve only operates on CH the wiring to the old valve was as follows

2-Earth
4-Grey
5-White
10-Blue
6-Orange

The plumber has wired the new one as follows

4-White
6-Grey
8-Orange
2-Blue
11-Earth

I am not sure what the old valve was and I can't get hold of the plumber to come back. Please, please help as it is really doing my head in!

Presumably the numbers are the terminals in a wiring centre, If so, we need to know what else is connected to each terminal as wiring is not standardised.

Post a list and it will be sorted.

Right then here goes, remembering I'm no expert. The connector block is a strip of eleven

Cylinder Stat
Red-5, Blue-7, Yellow-6, Earth-10

Valve
Blue-2, Grey-4, Orange-6, White-8, Earth-10

Pump
Blue-2, Brown-8, Earth-10

Feed
Brown-1, Blue-2, Earth-10

Control
LH side (CH) Black-2,red-1, Earth-10
RH side (HW)Blue-7, Red-3, Yellow-5

There are two other wires coming up to the box presumably room stat

1) red-3, Black-4, Earth-10
2)Black-2, red-8, earth-10

One last question, when you take the actuator off are you supposed to be able to move the valve by hand?
