Drilling into impenetrable Tiles

Those cheap arrow headed ones always work for me ........just dip it in a cup of cold watering very very frequently.

I usually start with a small dia pilot and work my way up.......never failed yet !

Great for ceramic but melt on porcelain (for me anyway).

All I can do is advise. A 5.5mm Bosch is a couple of quid. As in the picture, blue on shaft. 95% of bathrooms I work on are porcelain or marble. Any hole under 15mm, use them. Slow or fast speed but stop every 5 seconds & dip the tip in water. Above 15mm diamond core or if tiling, grind crisscrossing from behind & gently tap on the front with a ball plane hammer, tap out to from a perfect curve or circle.

And why do you think yours melt on porcelain and mine don't ?

Because mine don't get hot enough as I dip them in a cup of water next to where I'm drilling every few seconds !!!!
And I drill a small pilot first, the smallest drill I have and patience is the thing and plenty of water.
When it comes to the larger diameter I leave one in the cup of cold water and keep swapping it with the one I'm using .....fast enough with 18v driver.
