How do I drill a hole in patio stone?! Do I need a special drill bit as I don't seem to be getting anywhere!!

One other questions...

Is it okay to base up a patio with a concrete mix and then use a combination of sand and cement to lay on top for the patio to sit on?

Thanks,

Simon.

to add to that you are using a sharp masonary bit arent you?

It's a good bit, but I've only got two 10mm masonary bits and I can only get so far...

It's as tough as a rock this patio stone!

That's the trouble with rock ......... hard as stone :D

I find if you're not using an SDS drill then try using progressively bigger bits - start at say a 4mm pilot hole and work up to 10 mm in 2mm stages.
