come across lately, porcelain, and incredibly hard tile surfaces, not only the glaze, but through the whole tile depth.just burn out tile drills or head snaps, have heard of water cooled drills available, what joy have you guys had dealing with this prob?

Cheers

If its for occasional use then diamond coated hole saws will go through porcelain without a problem, just run your drill slowly and keep them wet with something like a garden spray. You will only get 3-4 holes per saw but as they only cost a couple of £'s can be treated as disposable.

I get mine from Richon in Hong Kong but if you cant wait 4-5 days try this seller on e-bay or pay well over the odds from B&Q warehuse.

If you are doing a hell of a lot then a kit from someone like Rubi will eventually pay for itself.
