when labour came to power in 1997 there was 49.000 claimants who said drugs & drink dependency was there primary medical condition stoping then from going to work to-day there is 101.000 reciving approx £83 to fund there live style, in total there is 2.7 million on benifits of which 1,million could easyly go back to work then we could pay more to O.A.P.'s

I see things differently billyo. The cause of our employment problems is the employers and our goverment. I beleive the largest employers of unskilled and semi skilled workers, directly influence goverment imigration policy. These surplus, poor foreign workers are brought in purely to keeps wages low as they will take the job you or I wil do for half the money or less.
The solution is to send them all home and hang all of Tony Blairs government for corruption. We would then be able to spend the money these people claimed in benefits (while working) on training our own kids to work.

I cannot understand why our goverment does not make the able bodied unemployed take a job, or stop thier benefits,especially the younger population, who perhaps stay at home,stay in bed most of the day, have no kids, but can still stay up all night watching TV, or playing on thier computer games.
Give them a time limit to get a job, and if they dont, either stop thier benefits, or make them do voluntry work.
They could clean up parks, clean graffitti, clean canals, sweep roads, do something for the community, there would be less need to import workers.

There is a state in america, forget which one , but the mayor has decided to do this, he has given them a time to get a job, and if they dont, thier benefits stop, simple...

Why cant it be done here?, or would it be an infringement on thier human rights.

Hi 3L's, as someone who doesn't really know you, I hope that you don't think that I am being rude for having broken your post into several points.
In both (1) and (2), I really have no idea what you mean by the parts I have highlighted.

With regards to (3), if you are the breadwinner, why would you jeopardise the wellbeing of your "other half and kids" by ending up in prison? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you appear to be saying that for you , crime is a way of life, the very bread and butter so to speak. Are you a criminal, and if so why? Why would you be so willing to deprive your kids of your love and affection by "ending up in jail". Why can't you be honest like the vast majority of our population?

As for how much it costs to keep you locked up, who cares? You would be out of sight, out of mind and those that have suffered as a result of your misdeeds would sleep easy i.e. until you got released.

you may not like what i have too say, but bear/bere/? in mind, when i think of me being short of money for my family, i also think of the people that run the government, and their big wages.
They steal, certain people should not be in work.

So i steal to get by
