Dry fix hip tiles

Hi there

I am in the process of adding 1/3 round tiles to the hips of my roof. I purchased the tileline ridge packs by dreadnought and they have informed me for the hips, no hip trays are required. I was wondering if this is ok? I am failing to understand how water won’t get into my roof with just having an aluminium roll with holes underneath.

Any advice would be appreciated. Please go easy on my as I’m not a roofer just anxious in laying the hips without hip trays?
