I’ve had a Texecom Premier Elite system for 10 years. It’s been very reliable but has the occasional false alarms.

Recently, I’ve had 3-4 false alarms from the only two DT PIRs on my system. One is in the loft and the other in the garage.

I inspected them today and the inside is completely clear. I siliconed the cable entry a few years back and that’s still intact. There were a few cobwebs in the vicinity but they are in that type of environment: loft and garage.

The loft PIR is around a metre off the floor (shallow loft) and the garage pir is around 2 meters off the floor. I thought it might be rodent but I think these PIRs are pet friendly?

I’d welcome your thoughts on this as it’s terrifying for this to go off in the middle of the night and the 110db sounder blaring!

What voltage you getting to the device?

Dates/ times of false alarms.

Short term put those zones on double knock to try and reduce chance of false alarms

Pet friendly it’s hard to say, as you look at mounting height and coverage patterns, but knowing if our is tilting forward, etc etc, not a fan of pet friendly sensors.

Edit, apparently your model isn’t pet friendly see below.

Rodents….or low voltage
Mx40s are rock solid …thats is not a pet tolerant version ….plus even if it was it wouldn’t be pet tolerant at 1m height …
