I've setup a few DT8M Wireless PIRs as a quick temp fix before installing some hard wired detectors. Inserted the batteries, all configured as a zone, signal strengh good, walk test working fine, set the system, moved a bit , lit up and set off intruder alarm.
However, i left the system idle for some time and came back to it later. The PIRs no longer light up when motion is detected.
I full set the system, did a song and a dance in front of it, but it didn't trigger an intruder alarm.
Whats happening, as means i could be setting the system fully, an intruder could pass the detector and no longer trigger the alarm!
Seems they've gone to sleep and not waking up without putting out the batteries and powering back on again!

Leave them 20 mins and try to activate them ….eg cover them up set system wait 20 mins uncover ….donthey now activate ?

I have just left them covered for 30 minutes and yes when uncovered both that i covered have triggered the alarm showing the 2 zones and 'intruder' but the LEDs don't show up on motion?
Is there a minimum time the system has to be set for before the wireless PIRs will cause an 'intruder' signal?

Not sure with the Honeywell devices maybe galaxy guy can tell you ? I only fit pyronix wireless systems ( various hardwired ) which are 2 way devices they are instant when the alarm is set …
Think the leds only work for 10mins from power up ( walk test ) after that off to save battery life

The detector will go into walk test for 10 minutes after battery insertion. It then goes into energy saving mode where it will trigger and then back off for three minutes before re-triggering. The LED will light upon re-triggering except where the DIP switch is set to disable the LED. The sensor also sends supervisory heartbeats (RF) back to the panel every few minutes to let the panel know it's still present and the battery is ok. With this configuration the battery can last up to 4 years.
