I need to cut a hole for my new sink, one person has said use a jigsaw and another has recommeded a router. The worktop is duropal (40mm chipboard).
Fortunately I don't need to make any joins but I will have to affix some edging to two edges, I have ordered this from duropal but I'm not sure what adhesive to use - I know this question is slightly OT but it sort of fits here.
Thanks in advance.

If the sink drops into the hole then a jigsaw will be fine as the finished edge does not need to be 100%. If the corners are not radiused then drill a 12mm hole as this will stop any cracks spreading from the corners. Preferable use a downward cutting jig saw blade as this will stop the laminate chipping. Seal the cut edges with several coats of varnish or smear silicon over them.

Use a contact adhesive for the edging strips (you usually get a length of edging included with the top)
