Got a DVD player thats stopped working all of a sudden. Thought I'd have a quick look inside to see anything obvious but alas nothing. Checked the obvious and power was going to the switch and that was operating, so assumed there was power to the transformer bit. Checked the was getting voltage at the PCB board end which connects to the DVD tray. Nothing obvious on the board looked burnt. My knowledge of electronics is weak so was not sure what else could go that would cut all power to the DVD player.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Try turning it off, pull out the plug and leave overnight then try again in the morning, Dvd players dont like to be left on standbye, when your not using it turn it completely off.

Unless your able to make electronic repairs, apart from changing the fuse in the plug there is not a lot you can do & as much as I really, really hate saying this, they are cheap as chips & buy a new one, only £17 in Tesco.

Then offer your faulty one on Freecycle (say its faulty). :D
