They are without doubt the most backward religion in the world, several centuries behind the rest of us. Any society that keeps half of its population under the thumb and refuses to utilise their potential skills is never going to prosper.

On the other hand, I believe that they might evolve in time. Their religious powers would prefer to keep their population in isolation from the rest of the world, but modern technology such as the internet and television allows them to witness the freedom that other countries enjoy.

Yes, I expect them to drag themselves into the 21st century some time in the 26th century!
