Maybe it does reflect society now. It's you may be out of date with society.
Or maybe your sensitivity is prejudicially heightened and your perception does not reflect reality.
Or maybe you think TV and films should accurately reflect society and be truthful.

Look at the casting for any drama set before 1970. And tell me that the depictions of history is not being changed to placate the faux historically outraged. There are faces popping up so out of context it's laughable.

Whilst at the same time we are constantly reminded of the accurate history of black slave trading .... well the agenda of the black/western slave trade .... and not the white slave trade, Muslim slave trade, Jewish slave trade or Asian slave trade.

I mean FFS the Roman's had it down to an art, and yet not one protest at the Italian Embassy.

If drama must accurately reflect reality, there's an awful lot of crime in and around Aidensfield in the '60's (Heartbeat).
And an awful lot of murder on Saint Marie (Death in Paradise).

Auswitz is a memorial to the VICTIMS of the holocaust ?? the mass murder of millions of people

(some)IRA memorial is a memorial to those who commited terrorist acts or were members of a terrorist organisation ? who planted bombs that killed innocent people
