EICR question

4 fluorescent lights that had been fitted years ago at the top of a tall (over 6 metres to the apex) building, used plug and sockets running back to a 4 gang light switch.
(Rightly or wrongly they had plugs and sockets to make it easier to remove at a height).

An EICR has said that the 4 gang switch needs to be replaced by 4 x 20a DP switches.

Does it really need 4 x 20a DP switches or would 1 x 4 gang 20a switch be compliant?

Or

If I change the plug and sockets to hard wired straight to the 4 gang switches, would that be compliant, or do they actually need 4 x 20a DP switches (seems excessive to me)

Because a single pole light switch is feeding a light via a socket, I must have missed summat.

I would politely ask the spark who produced the EICR for the reference number to back up his coding as that sounds wrong to me

And what’s the fuse rating in the plug?

The fuses are all 3a (4 lights each on a single cable 1 from each switch)

Probably another case of someone who can't accept that socket outlets can be used on lighting circuits.
Did they also say this was because someone could climb up there and plug a welder in? Or perhaps a vacuum cleaner?
