Hello,
Does anyone know of a tool suitale of running a gouge up a brick wall to place electric cable in(interior with plaster covering) and gouging out an area for light switches to make them flush. At present I have conduit running up the wall with sticking out box light switches. Someone has already suggested for me to use a hammer and chisel but I have loads to do and was wondering if there was a power tool like a router available to do the job quickly.

Thanks

there are disc cutters but they create a lot of dust you will probably need to remove all the furniture or cover them and believe me the dust goes everywhere not a problem on a building site but in a decorated room...

You can buy gouge chisels that fit an SDS drill with rotostop.

Also box sinkers for hammer drills.

See tlc-direct.co.uk

Any power tool applied to the walls will create large amounts of dust. Twin disc chasing tools will produce the quickest & neatest result, and the most dust.

Sounds like a major refurb - don't know whether you're living in the house, or if it's furnished - as Kendor said, dealing with the dust in a furnished house that you're living in will be a nightmare.

Chiselling by hand also creates dust. I think the best compromise is using SDS chisel and box sinker - less effort, but not as much dust as disc cutting tool.

Sorry, that's meant to read less effort than by hand....
