electric shower, no power

Hi, the power light on my shower has gone off, unit appears dead. Pull cord switch fine with light working as it should, fuse fine. Power switch itself inside the shower seems fine but don't know how I would know if it was faulty.. Could it be anything else?

What sort of shower unit is it? Is it a straight mixer/pump, or an instant heat unit?

If you aren't sure, tell us the make and model.

I think it is an instant heat unit, it is a galaxy g8000si

The most common problem with those is a bad connection, somewhere. It may be in the pull switch, or the termination inside the unit itself.

Did you notice a sort of fishy smell recently?

Nope, no fishy smells. Can it still be a bad connection in the pull switch if it's light works ok?

The light will work even if there is a bad connection is on the load (shower) side of the switch.

Does teh light stay on when you switch on the shower?
