Electric vans

I have finally went over to the dark-side. My old van is gone and i have got myself an EV Van lol

I quite like it, range is quoted as 170 miles and I think 100 on a cold winters day is very likely. and I do a 100 mile round trip about once per month

most of my journeys are tiny, typicaly 6 x 1½ miles per day, so a new diesel with a DPF was never going to work

mine was ex demonstrator, 255 miles on clock, 18K (the back was so clean it had obviously never had a load in it)

I will have to update my Avatar

What make and model is it?

today (sun) is its first big test 100 mile
it will only get up to 95% tnight (3 pin plug charging)
be happy if it gets home with 40% remaining ?

range anxiety has already set in

Anxiety ? if I get anxiety can I live on benefits instead of grafting ??? if i get on PIP i could be dring a merc instead of a Spanish van ! this having an EV could be a good thing after all....

You'll be fine today, looking at the maths of that, no problem at all.
(...and anyway, there's public charging - not many 100 mile routes that don't pass a charger.)

this is something I need to learn about, can you just fill up with a debit card, or do you need a special card / cards, or even a smartphone; I have none of these
at the moment i just charge up at home with a 3 pin plug (30 mile a night)

anyway van is up to 95% this morning, so its first big day lies ahead. can see me driving back up the A1 at 30mph panicking about the percentage

Sooner you than me, good luck!

nb. is that 30 miles of range per overnight charge, or have I misunderstood?

Pretty much all chargers take debit cards these days. Zapmap will help you find the chargers. You won't need it today.
