I cuurently have my flat heated by white meter storage heaters.

My plan is to remove the one in my living room, and replace with a firplace. Is it possible to connect a normal electric heater to the existing white meter point. Or will a normal heater not operate unless the power company has sent power through the white meter system?

i dont know how the white meter system operates, and cant find out on the internet, can anyone help.

Not sure what you mean by white meter points. In general, storage heaters are only 'on' at night, when electricity prices are low. They store the heat in bricks, which is then released slowly throughout the day. It would be likely therefore that the point you mentioned could only be used at night, even with a conventional heater.
