My other half has been replacing our kitchen tiles and he removed tiles surrounding the wall power supply switch next to the boiler. This switch is isolated to power only the boiler. As the switch was loosened from the wall the tile scraper touched the back of the switch and blew the fuse. Once the fuse was replaced there was still no power - so the boiler has no power...any ideas?? Would this have damaged the switch?

Have you check the fuse/MCB/RCD back in the main fuse box or is it fed off the socket circuit?
Also have you checked the fuse in the spur unit (likely what you are calling a switch)?

Hi Spark

Yes, my boyfriend has checked the RCD but the RCD had not tripped. He replaced the fuse in the spur unit / switch which had blown. Any thoughts? Do you think maybe the boiler itself could have been damaged?

Thanks so much!!

The boyfriend has found a blown internal fuse in the boiler...so that seems to be the problem!
