electrical work in other countries

have any of you worked as electricians in other countries?
thinking of going away for a bit see some sites and work at the same time.
thinking of oz is the wiring simular to ours? allso thinking of canada whats theres like?

All I know is from watching Holmes on homes, that canadian wiring looks to be very different from ours.
 
tru of America, its all radial, and if you go to oz, you have to start all over again

I worked in Australia and Zimbabwe, Steelworks in Oz repairing motors, followed by a Cathodic Protection company, neither required a licence at the time although if you were licenced the money was better, have look at http://www.smh.com.au/ click on jobs, used to be loads of agency/contract work around Sydney

Wiring is similar to UK with a few differences

Zimbabwe probably best not try at the moment, but fascinating and beautiful country if you get the chance
